Mission Viejo is popular for its many upscale communities like Sunrise Ridge in California. This neighborhood is close to freeways, services, merchants, and outdoor recreation.
The Sunrise Ridge subdivision offer 202 homes and were built by Mission Viejo Company. There are several floor plans like the Dawn which features 1,728 square feet and three bedrooms. The Sunset plan has 2,395 square feet and five bedrooms. All of the homes in this community have two-car garages.
This community is served by the Capistrano Unified School District which provides excellent facilities like Philip J. Reilly Elementary, Newhart Middle School, and Capistrano Valley High School. There are several private schools like Sunflower Montessori, Carden Academy, Al Ridah Academy, and Cornerstone Community School. There are several colleges in this region including Saddleback College which calls this city home and the University of California, Irvine.
This region is popular for its many parks and trails. Residents of the city have access to the Lake Mission Viejo which is man-made and one of the cleanest lakes in the nation. There are many outdoor activities on the beaches and in the water like picnicking, hiking, swimming, fishing, paddle boarding, and boating. The lake is regularly stocked with catfish, bass, sunfish, and trout. If you catch a tagged trout you can win a variety of prizes. The record fish caught as of 2006 was a little over 19 pounds. The lake is the place for streets fairs, summer concerts, movie screenings, and holiday activities throughout the year.
Mission Viejo has three golf clubs; the Casta del Sol Golf Course, Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course, and The Mission Viejo Country Club. And Mission Hospital, the largest medical facility in South Orange County, is only minutes away. There is plenty of shopping the Kaleidoscope Courtyards and The Shops at Mission Viejo which offers well over 150 merchants.
